Lincoln women finish 10th at track championship

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Lincoln University Blue Tiger women finished 10th in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships that concluded Saturday night.

Lincoln, which was ranked No. 1 in the country by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, finished with 25 points.

Pittsburg State was first with 52, one point better than St. Augustine's. Hilldale was third with 45.

Chrisdale McCarthy of Lincoln captured the 100-meter hurdles title Saturday with a time of 13.49.

Jhevere Hall was third in the 800-meter run for the Blue Tigers, while Kimberly Bailey was seventh in the 200-meter dash.

On Friday, Diana Cauldwell of Lincoln was fourth in the triple jump after taking seventh in the long jump Thursday.

On the men's side, Lincoln finished in a tie for 29th with eight points.

The Blue Tigers got all of their points with a second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. Team members included Roberto Smith, Stephen Rose, Roger Blake and Miguel Barton.

St. Augustine's dominated the competition to take the men's team title with 85 points, Tiffin and Texas A&M-Kingsville tied for second with 36.
