Missouri baseball drops Bieser's debut

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Missouri Tigers lost the first game of the Steve Bieser-era Friday, falling 6-2 to the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

Junior pitcher Tanner Houck went 52/3 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits with two walks and nine strikeouts for Missouri.

Missouri's only two runs came by way of junior catcher Brett Bond's two-RBI single in the bottom of the first to give the Tigers a brief 2-1 lead. Junior infielders Alex Samples Robbie Glenndinning each had two hits in their first game as a Tigers.

The two teams play a doubleheader today with the first game at noon and second at 3 p.m. Junior Andy Toelken then sophomore Michael Plassmeyer are scheduled to be the two starters on the hill for Missouri.
