Missouri wrestling tops Central Michigan

COLUMBIA - The Missouri wrestling team won its 27th consecutive dual in the Mid-American Conference, rolling to a 24-8 win against Central Michigan in a battle of top-25 programs Sunday at the Hearnes Center.

Missouri, ranked No. 8, tallied seven wins in the dual. The Tigers added bonus points in two of those wins, with J'den Cox at 197 pounds (11-2) and Daniel Lewis at 165 (WBTF).

Also winning for Missouri were Austin Myers at heavyweight (6-2), John Erneste at 133 (11-6), Jaydin Eierman at 141 (5-3), Lavion Mayes at 149 (11-4) and Joey Lavallee at 157 (3-1).

Central Michigan, ranked No. 16, won three matches in the dual.

Missouri (9-2, 6-0 MAC) will host No. 1 Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. Friday. Prior to the dual, Missouri will hold a "Tiger with Titles" event featuring two former wrestlers, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
