Pintos take sixth at district golf meet

ASHLAND, Mo. — The California boys golf season came to an end on Monday afternoon as the team shot a 410 to finish sixth out of 10 schools at the Class 2 District 4 meet at Eagle Knoll Golf Course.

Freshman Jordan Geiser was the closest Pintos golfer to qualifying for sectionals as he carded a 100 to finish four shots off the cut line in a tie for 27th. Junior Dylan Kramel was right behind Geiser with a 102 to finish tied for 30th. Liam Schatzer carded a 103 to take 32nd and Matt Hurt shot a 105 to finish in a tie for 33rd.

Hermann won the meet with a team score of 333, while Father Tolton took second with a 335.

Mustangs gallop past Pintos in final home match

Prior to Monday’s district tournament, California hosted conference foe Eldon in its regular season finale. Despite Geiser’s team-leading 45, the Pintos fell 177-194 on Thursday night.

Kramel and Kale McAdams each carded a 46, while Schatzer rounded out the California scoring with a 57.

“Some of these guys couldn’t hit the ball when we started and now they have something they can do for the rest of their lives,” said California coach Doug Miller.
