Jamestown's Mickayla Strother wins two events at districts

Both the Jamestown boys and girls track and field teams took fifth out of 23 teams at Saturday's Class 1 District 6 meet in Cleveland.

Mickayla Strother led the girls squad with wins in the 100 Meter Hurdles and Triple Jump. She was also a member of the third-place 4 x 200 relay team that included sister Mackenzie Strother, Chiane Harlan and Sierra Cooper. Mackenzie Strother also scored a third place finish of her own in the 800 Meter Run.

In boys action, Trenton Barbour scored a trio of top-three finishes, highlighted by a win in the Triple Jump. He also took second place in the 400 Meter Dash and third in the Long Jump. The other boys champion for the Eagles was Lucas Knierim in Shot Put.

Jamestown will compete in sectionals on Saturday at Clinton High School.
