The next time the Jefferson City Lady Jays take the floor, it will be as the No. 1 team in Class 5.

The Lady Jays (11-0), fresh off winning the title at last week's Holiday Hoops Invitational, took over the top spot in the poll released Thursday by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Jefferson City, which had Thursday night's scheduled home game against Sullivan postponed due to weather, will play next week in the Union Tournament.

The Lady Jays are the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

The top of the Class 5 rankings are full of Mid-Missouri teams.

Hickman, which Jefferson City beat for the Invitational crown, is No. 3 while Rock Bridge holds down the No. 4 spot.

On the boys side, the Helias Crusaders are No. 4 in Class 4 heading into a tournament that started Thursday night hosted by Springfield Catholic. Helias defeated Lebanon 81-74 to open the event.

The California Lady Pintos entered the Class 3 rankings this week, holding down the No. 9 spot.
