BELTON, Mo. - The Calvary Lutheran Lions tied for first place Saturday in Class 1 sectional track and field action.
Calvary and Glasgow each finished with 69 team points.
Calvary won four events. Reece Going was first in the 200-meter dash while Luke Allen won the long jump. The Lions also captured titles in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays.
Calvary advanced in six events to this week's Class 1 state championships that begin Friday at Adkins Stadium.
The Jamestown boys were 10th with 30 points and advanced to state in two events.
On the girls side, Calvary finished fifth with 48 points.
Emma Homfeldt of the Lady Lions was first in the 800-meter run as the team advanced to state in five events.
The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets finished sixth with 36 points. Shanley Kliethermes advanced to state by winning the pole valut.
The Jamestown Lady Eagles tied for 11th with 22 points and will advance to state in one event.
