SEDALIA, Mo. - The Tipton Cardinals will be in five events while the Lady Cardinals will be in two in this week's Class 2 State Track and Field Championships.
The Cardinals advanced three individuals and two relays with their top-four finishes Saturday's sectional. Isaac Ashton advanced in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, while Dalton Weaver moved on in the triple jump. The Cardinals also qualified in the 4x100- and 4x800-meter relays.
On the girls side, Tipton advanced in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays.
The state championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Adkins Stadium.
