It was the California High School's juniors who ended the day celebrating, as they defeated the seniors 18-12 Sept. 17 during the school's Powder Puff football tournament, which kicks off Homecoming Week for California.

The freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors all played 9-on-9 flag football for a chance to win points for their class, during the school's Homecoming Week class competition.

In the first game, the seniors defeated the freshmen 30-18 and the juniors defeated the sophomores 12-0. In the third place game, the sophomores defeated the freshmen 6-o.

At the start of the championship game, the seniors took an early 12-0 lead. But, the juniors would come roaring back, as they scored 18 points-in-a-row and stopped the seniors on their last possession to secure the victory.

The final results were the juniors in first place, the seniors in second place, the sophomores in third place, and the freshmen finished in fourth place.

The classes will also compete in spirit days at school, fundraiser events and a float-making competition during the rest of the week.
