California falls to Hallsville

CALIFORNIA, Mo. - It was a costly night for the California Pintos.

California allowed 38 unanswered points to the Hallsville Indians in dropping a 38-8 decision. In addition, the Pintos suffered multiple injuries to players in their starting lineup including quarterback Alex Currens.

California took an 8-0 lead as a result of Cory Friedmeyer scoring on a fumble recovery on a punt. But that was it for the offense which struggled with turnovers and penalties for much of the evening. California committed four turnovers and had 14 penalties.

On defense the Pintos recent tackling struggles continued as the team had trouble stopping Hallsville's running game as the Indians rushed for four touchdowns. The game was tied at 8 at halftime.
