Capital City Invitational begins today

Weather permitting, there will be plenty of baseball in the Capital City the next three days.

The eight-team Capital City Invitational begins today, with a total of 16 games to be played at Vivion Field and the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex.

Today's pool-play action at Vivion Field opens with the Jefferson City Jays hosting Russellville at 5 p.m., followed by the Blair Oaks Falcons facing Eureka at 7:15 p.m.

At the Legion Complex, Fatima takes on Hickman at 5 p.m. and the Helias Crusaders host Lutheran: St. Charles at 7:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jefferson City announced Friday's pool-play games will be moved up one hour due to the threat of inclement weather. Action will begin at 11 a.m. instead of noon, with the Jays hosting Blair Oaks at Vivion Field and Helias hosting Hickman at the Legion Complex.
