ATLANTA (AP) - The Los Angeles Sparks fell short of the fastest start in WNBA history Sunday with a 91-74 loss to the Atlanta Dream.
Los Angeles (20-2) had tied the 1998 Houston Comets, who finished the regular season 27-3, for the fastest start. The loss also snapped the Sparks' WNBA-record road winning streak to open a season at nine.
Layshia Clarendon had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Atlanta.
Angel McCoughtry had 17 points, Bria Holmes scored a career-high tying 15 and Tiffany Hayes added 14 points for the Dream (12-11).
Nneka Ogwumike had 26 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles. Candace Parker added 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

SEATTLE (AP) - Elena Delle Donne made a 3-pointer with a second left to lift Chicago past Seattle.
Delle Donne scored Chicago's final nine points and finished with 35 on 14-of-24 shooting. She also had 11 rebounds. Cheyenne Parker had career highs with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Cappie Pondexter scored 15 points, and Courtney Vandersloot added 11 for Chicago (10-12).
Sue Bird had 24 points for Seattle (8-14), and Breanna Stewart Stewart added 22 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five blocks.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Seimone Augustus hit a fade-away jumper in the paint with 15.3 seconds left in overtime to help Minnesota beat Dallas.
Maya Moore had 20 points and six assists, Sylvia Fowles added 14 points and a season-high 19 rebounds and Rebekkah Brunson had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lynx (19-4). Lindsey Whalen scored 15 points, Augustus had 14, and Renee Montgomery 11.
Plemette Pierson had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Wings (9-14) Karima Christmas added 20 points.

NEW YORK (AP) - Swin Cash scored 16 points and Tina Charles and Sugar Rodgers each added 14 in New York's victory over Connecticut.
New York trailed 66-65 midway through the fourth quarter before Brittany Boyd's three-point play gave them a two-point lead. The Liberty (17-7) wouldn't relinquish that advantage the rest of the way.
Chiney Ogwumike had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Connecticut (6-16).
