Cardinals put Moss on DL with sprained ankle, recall Grichuk

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Cardinals have placed slugger Brandon Moss on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle.

Outfielder Randal Grichuk was recalled from Triple-A Memphis but was not in the lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.

Moss leads the Cardinals with 17 homers and has 40 RBIs in 75 games with starts at first base and in the outfield.

Grichuk had five homers and 15 RBIs in 15 games since being demoted to the minors. He was batting .206 with eight homers and 27 RBIs in 62 games before getting sent down.
