SEATTLE (AP) - Maya Moore had 18 points, seven rebounds and eight assists to help the Minnesota Lynx beat the Seattle Storm 96-84 Sunday night and extend their WNBA record for consecutive wins to open a season.
Sylvia Fowles had 16 points and Natasha Howard added a season-high 16 points also, on 7-of-7 shooting, for the Lynx (12-0), whose reserves outscored those of the Storm 38-10.
Minnesota will face the unbeaten Sparks on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Sue Bird hit back-to-back 3-pointers and then Alysha Clark converted a three-point play during a 9-2 spurt by Seattle that tied it early in the third quarter, but Minnesota scored nine straight to start a 29-8 run over the 10-plus minutes and led by double figures the rest of the way.
Seattle (4-9) made 10 of its first 13 field-goal attempts to open up a 22-12 lead before the Lynx caught fire. Minnesota, ranked No. 1 in the AP WNBA power poll, made 17 of its next 18 shots to take a 44-34 lead with 4:20 left in the half and never trailed again.
Breanna Stewart had 21 points and nine rebounds for the seventh-ranked Storm.
LIBERTY 78, FEVER 75, OT
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tina Charles had 26 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to help the Liberty beat the Fever.
Sugar Rodgers scored 14 points, Tanisha Wright added 13 and Kiah Stokes grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds for the Liberty (8-4), who have won four in a row.
Stokes made a layup with 2:48 left in overtime to spark an 8-2 spurt that gave New York a 78-73 lead with eight seconds left.
The Liberty, ranked fourth in the AP WNBA power poll, limited Indiana to four points in the third - tying the Fever's franchise record for fewest points in a quarter - and led 55-46 early in the fourth.
Trailing 66-62, Rogers hit a leaning 3 with 22.1 seconds left and then, after January made 1 of 2 free throws on the other end, Rogers hit two foul shots to force overtime.
Tamika Catchings missed a potential winning runner in the lane as regulation expired.
Catchings scored 23 points and Erlana Larkins had 10 points, a season-high 15 rebounds and three blocks for the eighth-ranked Fever (5-8).
SUN 93, STARS 90
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Alex Bentley scored 29 points, Jonquel Jones had 10 of her career-best 14 in the fourth quarter and the Sun beat the Stars to end a three-game skid.
Jasmine Thomas had 11 points, a career-high 10 assists and nine boards for Connecticut. Chiney Ogwumike tied a season high with 12 points and Kelly Faris scored 10. Jones added nine rebounds.
The Sun, ranked 11th in the AP WNBA power poll, trailed by seven after three quarters, but opened the fourth with a 20-4 run to take an 86-77 lead with 3:25 to play. Connecticut hit four 3-pointers during that stretch, including two by Jones, as San Antonio missed eight of its first nine field-goal attempts in the quarter.
Kayla McBride scored seven points in fewer than 90 seconds to help pull the last-ranked Stars within two with 45 seconds remaining, but Ogwumike responded with a step-through bank shot from the right block that essentially sealed it.
McBride led San Antonio (2-9) with 25 points.
The Sun (3-10) have won five straight against the Stars.
