California's JV baseball team won vs Cole Camp 3-0 on, March 19 in a three-inning contest. The Pintos didn't have any problem holding the lead as they more than doubled their opponents in strikeouts.
A major part of the victory was freshman pitcher Calen Kruger, who had eight strikeouts. He is one of the JV players who play double time on varsity along with four others.
There are quite a few freshmen getting time in this year on JV, which will help the team in the long run having experienced players.
Both Spencer Messerli and Ethan Bloch had an RBI. Messerli's RBI came in the first inning, Bloch's RBI came in the second inning, and Kaden Bax had a stolen base in the third.
"One thing the team as a whole could have done was been a little more patient and selective in the count, but overall had a good defensive game," Coach Robb Hartman said.
