California Park and Rec will host a pitch, hit, run competition

The California Park and Rec is hosting a local Pitch, Hit and Run competition 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event is free for boys and girls ages 7-14. The Pitch, Hit, and Run competition is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball, with participants having a chance to advance through four levels of competition, including team championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals during All-Star Week.

All participants must bring a copy of a valid birth document for age verification and have a parent or guardian fill out a registration form prior to the start of the competition.

Participants can register online by going to PitchHitRun.com and click on the Find a Competition tab. Type in a zip code and register under city of California. For questions, contact Leslie Schedit at 573-353-6400.
