Cletus Clarence Schellman

Cletus Clarence Schellman, 80, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born August 11, 1932, in Brazito, Missouri, a son of the late Cletus William and Helen (Miller) Schellman. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Bridgeton, Missouri. On November 21, 1953, Cletus was united in marriage to Elizabeth Frances Gettinger, who survives at their home. Cletus worked as a machinist at Chesebrough-Ponds Inc. from 1966 until his retirement in 1992. He also worked for Phillips Petroleum and Hagen Machinery. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1950 - 1952. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, reading, and traveling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cletus is also survived by a son: Michael Joseph Schellman (wife Ruthie) of Centertown; four grandchildren: Michele Schellman Cassil (husband Jeremy); Robyn Schellman Lehmen (husband Brian); Ben Schellman (wife Kelly); Matt Schellman (wife Roxanne); five great-grandchildren: Kaden Cassil, Klara Cassil, Emma Lehmen, Daniel Mailath, Caroline Schellman, and one due in January; one brother: Merle Schellman (wife Sue) of St. Louis; and one sister: Myrna Collins of St. Louis. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Armond Schellman; and a sister: Marlene Lovshe. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
