Dean Elliott, 75, of California, MO passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at his home. He was born on January 22, 1938 in Moniteau County, MO, the son of Brent and Ruth (Howard) Elliott, both of whom preceded him in death. Dean worked for Ralston Purina for many years, and was a self- employed mechanic, union painter, and owned Sinclair Station in California, also sold fuel, tires, and parts for ten years at local race tracks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, most of all sprint car racing. He loved spending time watching sprint car races, and racing all over the Midwest. Dean was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons; Rick Elliott and wife Mary of Tipton, MO., and Darryl Elliott and wife Rhonda of California MO., five grandchildren, Alyssa, Kayla, Travis, Ryan, and Tyler Elliott, one special loving friend, Linda Hayes of California, MO. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Vernon Elliott. Funeral Services were on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home in California. Officiating was the Rev. Ken Mathes. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Clarksburg, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Double X Race Kids of the night c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service.
