Helen Wittenberger

Helen Wittenberger, 54, of California, MO passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Moniteau Care Center in California, MO. She was born on October 19, 1958 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Curtis and Helen Margery (Wingate) Rosenmiller, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on November 20, 1976 at Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown to Stephen Wittenberger, who survives of the home. She was a homemaker, and also a bus driver for the Prairie Home School District for many years, retiring in 2005. Helen was active in her church, in school activities, was president of the Prairie Home PTO, chairman of the Booster Club, active in fund-raising for the new ball field, and had received the Honorary Panther Award. She was a member of the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church. She is survived by one son, Adam Wittenberger and wife Maria of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Aimee Hill and husband Kevin, of California, and Alyssa Porter and husband Darin, also of California; three grandsons, Bryce, Cale, and Dane Hill; three brothers, Richard Rosenmiller and wife Judy of Bowling Green, MO, Howard Rosenmiller and wife Sandy of Jamestown, and Stephen Rosenmiller and Sheryl Pence of Holts Summit; and one sister, Joyce Zey and husband Joe of Prairie Home. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church north of California, MO. Burial was in Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Brian Bish, assisted by Chaplain Bruce Gardner. Memorials are suggested to the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church or Cemetery, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to Beth Fennewald, Kathy Alpers, Jackie Bruner, Paula Kay, Mary Lou Bieri, Jenny Alpers, Joyce Shaul, Sherry Hampton, Gloria Imhoff and Dawn Fredrick.
