Raymond S. Hall, 91, of California, MO passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. He was born January 14, 1922 in Moniteau Co. the son of Beuford and Edna Cornelia Rohrbach Hall, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on February 14, 1960 in Jamestown MO to Mildred M. Schoenthal, who survives at the home. Raymond was a lifelong farmer. He was a active member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church. He was a delegate of the local MFA board for 65 years and also the MFA Oil state board of directors for 26 years. He was on the board of Tipton Latham Bank for 35 years and was involved in numerous other local organizations. Raymond was an Army, WWII veteran where he served with the 90th Infantry Division Combat Engineers. He stormed Utah Beach on June 8, 1944 and fought in 5 major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war he was near Prague, Czechoslovakia. He was a 1941 graduate of Latham High School. Raymond is survived by one daughter, Sue Ann Loesch and husband Bill of Jefferson City, MO; one grandson, Nicholas Loesch of Jefferson City, MO. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating was Floyd Leimkiller. Burial with full military honors was in the California City Cemetery.
