Faye Ash

Faye (Dick) Ash, 74, of California, MO passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at California Care Center. She was born on July 11, 1938 in Clarksburg, MO the daughter of John Lawrence "Dude" and Sylvia Lorena (Whittaker) Dick, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married in Miami, OK on April 19, 1957 to Raymond "Curly" Ash, who survives of the home. Faye graduated from California High School in 1956 and earned an Associate Degree from Capital Business College. Faye was self-employed as a homemaker and child care provider. Faye was also a substitute teacher for several area schools; and a 4-H, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served on various church committees. She enjoyed working with ceramics and sold her handmade ceramic pieces at many area craft shows. Faye also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to their various activities, and watching Cardinal baseball and MU basketball games. She is survived by seven children, Linda Richards and husband Paul of Louisburg, KS, Glenda Miller and husband Tom, Ron Ash and Leslie English, Lanny Ash and wife Ellen, Brian Ash and wife Beth, Craig Ash and wife Shelly, all of California, MO, and Michael Ash and wife Julia of Columbia, MO; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Dick and wife Candace of Maricopa, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church in California, MO. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery north of California. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Morrow. Memorials are suggested to the family of Faye Ash, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.
