Ambyr Beryl Alldredge, 99, of California, Missouri passed away Saturday, March 09, 2013 at Tipton Oak Manor Tipton, Missouri. She was born on September 28, 1913 in Bethany, Missouri to Curtis (C.D.) and Bertha (Thompson) Gillilan. Ambyr was united in marriage to Herschel P. Alldredge on March 12, 1938 at St. Louis, MO in the old St. Louis Courthouse. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1996. She was raised on her family homestead and attended school in Baker, Montana. In 1931 she returned to Ava, Missouri with her family. When the family moved to California, MO she was then employed at the California Woolen Mill. Later she worked at the California Manufacturing Company. Along with her husband, they owned and operated Alldredge TV Service, then purchased the Ritz Theatre and later purchased the Kraft Milk Building where they started the Green and Gold Laundry. After retirement, Ambyr and Herschel enjoyed traveling around the country in his airplane. She was a charter member of the California Extensionettes Club and a long-time member of the California United Methodist Church and was very active with the UMW. Ambyr's favorite pastimes were quilting, sewing, reading, watching Days of Our Lives, playing solitaire and spending time with her grandchildren and friends. Ambyr was well known for her homemade doughnuts and chocolate shakes. Ambyr is survived by: one daughter Patsy Rohrbach (Jim) of California; two grandsons, John Alldredge, of Rocky Mount, MO and Phillip Alldredge (Cholly) of St. Charles, MO; two granddaughters, Sarah Jones of California and Amy Blankenship (Clint) of Grandview, MO; Eight great grandchildren, Lauren and Levi Alldredge, Kayla, Aaron and Ethan Jones, Matthew, Micah and Rachel Blankenship; one sister, Norma Mayo, of Perry, GA. She was preceded in death by: one son, Sam Alldredge in 1994; two grandsons, Matt Alldredge in 1986 and Aaron Rohrbach in 1993; two brothers and six sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12 at Windmill Ridge Funeral Services with Rev. Eric Moore officiating. Interment will be at California City Cemetery at a later date.
