Marjorie F. Tuttle

Marjorie F. Tuttle, age 87, of Prairie Home passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville. Marjorie Frances Tuttle was born July 25, 1925 near Bunceton, Missouri, the only child of Louis Gabriel and Mary Lee Morris Taliaferro. She graduated from Bunceton High School and attended Warrensburg College where she earned a Teaching Certificate. She taught at Jefferson School in rural Cooper County for a short time until she married William Ellis Tuttle Sr. on April 14, 1946. Survivors include her husband, William E. Tuttle Sr.; one son, William Ellis Tuttle Jr. (Christy) of Columbia, Mo.; one daughter, Julie Thacher (Frank) of Boonville, Mo.; two grandsons, Trey Thacher of Memphis, Tennessee and Kyle Thacher (Andrea) of Boonville; and one great grandson, Samuel Ellis Thacher of Boonville. Mrs. Tuttle was a lifelong member of the Pisgah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was the pianist and was Treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Prairie Home Garden Club and the Cooper County Historical Society. She and her husband owned and operated Bill's Plumbing and Electric in Prairie Home from 1964 until their declining health forced its closure in 2010. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 8, at Thacher Funeral Home, Boonville. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Pisgah Cemetery or the charity of one's choice.
