Margaret S. Johnson, 97, of Concordia, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO and California, MO, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with Rev. Bill McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Oak Grove Community Church Cemetery in Johnson County, MO. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Community Church or Concordia Senior Center. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born June 29, 1915, in California, MO, she was the daughter of the late Charles VanDyke Stewart and L. Maye Draffen Stewart. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg and a Master's degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder. On August 16, 1965, she married LeRoy L. Johnson, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1991. She had lived in Concordia since 1995, moving from a farm south of Concordia, previously living in Kansas City and California. She was a retired school teacher having taught for 46 years, and was a member of Oak Grove Community Church. Survivors include two step-children, Beverly O'Brien of Roeland Park, KS and Robert D. Johnson of Kansas City, MO; one niece, Lynne Stewart of California, MO; eight step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Jack and Wayne Stewart.
