Margaret L. Bilyeu

Margaret L. Bilyeu, 93, of California, MO passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 29, 1919 in Moniteau County, Missouri the daughter of William B. and Hedwig "Hattie" (Lademann) VanMater who preceded her in death. She was married to Gerald "Lee" Bilyeu on October 8, 1938 in California, MO. Gerald "Lee" preceded her in death on July 27, 2005. She graduated the eighth grade from Rock Island Country School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her husband and family and anyone who stopped by. She deeply loved her family. She was baptized of the Lutheran faith and attended the First Baptist Church in California, MO. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Doris Jean Kunze and husband Kenneth of California, MO and Shirley Marie Swearingen of the home; 1 brother, Dorsey VanMater of Carthage, MO; 6 grandchildren, Wayne, Mark and Bryan Kunze, Kathy Kempfer, Kris and Kevin Swearingen; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son and infant daughter and one brother, Herbert VanMater. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Burial was at the California City Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Greg Morrow. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S.
