Rita B. Marshall

Rita B. Marshall, 90, of California, Missouri left her wonderfully active life on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at California Care Center California, Missouri. She was born on February 21, 1923 in Morrison, Missouri to Emil and Caroline (Walterscheidt) Boss. In 1943 Rita graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. On Aug. 26, 1944, in Louisville, KY, Rita was married to Robert "Bob" Marshall. Rita was a loving mother and was known affectionately to her grandchildren as the "Kissing Grandma". She was a dedicated member of the Annunciation Catholic Church. For many years she bowled with the Golden Oldies Bowling Team, enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Pintos sports fan. She also enjoyed driving convertible cars and the companionship of her Jack Russell dog named Jack. Rita is survived by: her husband Robert "Bob" Marshall of the home; six children, Kenneth Marshall (Mona Ann) of California, Ronald Marshall (Ellen) of Oshkosh WI, Sharon Kempker (Joseph)of Holts Summit, David Marshall (Jackie) of Lee's Summit, Carol Zimmerman (friend Charles Wood)of California; Linda Graham (Rickie) of California; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren with twins on the way; one sister Oda Weller (Daniel) of Sedalia; one sister-in-law Elneta Estes of Sedalia; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Rita is preceded in death by: one brother Raymond Boss; an infant brother James Boss; one grandson Trenton Zimmerman and a son-in-law Stephen Hammen. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Fr. David Maher and Fr. Fred Elscamp concelebrating with interment following at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery.
