Doran Edward Woods

Doran Edward Woods, 75, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4th at Ashley Manor Care Center. Doran was born in Petersburg, MO, Oct. 7th, 1937, the son of Early R. Woods and Della Fraser Woods. He never married. Doran attended Prairie Home High School. He worked as a painter for Tommy Green and then was employed by Pan Handle Eastern pipe line until his retirement. In his retirement years, he was self-employed as a bulldozer operator, custom farmer, raised cattle and enjoyed all outside work. Doran is survived by one brother, Early Allen Woods (Deloris) of Jamestown, one sister, Phoebe Victoria Early of New Franklin, special nephew, Joe Early Richards (Sandy) of Boonville and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Violet Hook and Lorene Lingo. Funeral services for Doran were held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday Oct. 7th, 2013 with Rev. Myron Couch officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request the memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
