H. C. Rugen, Jr., 91, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Tipton Oaks Manor. He was born June 25, 1922 in Florence, Mo., the son of Herman C. and Lillie (Rodekhor) Rugen. On October 14, 1950 H.C. Rugen, Jr. was united in marriage at East Sedalia Baptist Church to Eleanor Wright, who preceded him in death on July 18, 2003. Junior was a hard working farmer that enjoyed farming, on his farm just south of Syracuse, Mo., and being with his family. His church and family was what he lived for. Junior was a deacon of the Syracuse First Baptist Church. Survivors include; 4 sons, Bob Rugen with his wife, Brenda of Fulton, Mo., David Rugen of California, Mo., Jerry Rugen with his wife, Connie of Montreal, Mo., and Ron Rugen of Kansas City, Mo.; ten grandchildren: Michelle (Paul) Husse of Knoxville, Tn., Melissa (Brad) Thompson of St. Louis, Mo., Brett (Kristin) Rugen of St. Louis Mo., Chris (Sarah) Rugen of California Mo., Kevin Rugen of Kansas City, Ks., Jeremy (Jamee) Rugen of Camdenton, Mo., Valerie (Jacob) Morris of Cameron, West Virginia, Alana Rugen of Jefferson City, Mo., Aaron (A.J.) Rugen of Columbia, Mo., Zachary Rugen of Columbia, Mo.; five great-grandchildren. Junior was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three brothers: Hersel Rugen, Vergel Rugen, Kalo Rugen; two sisters: Grace Twenter, Nadine Rugen. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home. Officiating was Rev. Greg Morrow & Rev. Gary Payne. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Preferred Hospice. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO.
