Winona Bernyce Hall, age 83, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of California, Mo. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Jefferson City Manor Care Center in Jefferson City, Mo., surrounded by her family. She was born January 2, 1930 in California Mo., the daughter of Harris Arthur and Roxie Virginia (Ashal) Meyer both of whom preceded her in death. Winona graduated from California High School and went on to graduate from Central Missouri State Teacher's College earning her teaching certificate. Winona was united in marriage to Leland Richard Hall in California, Mo. on February 11, 1951 who also preceded her in death. Winona was employed as the first kindergarten teacher for the California school district. Later she entered the insurance field working for Capital Claim's Service and Shelter Insurance where she retired after 35 years of service. Winona was a life long member of the California United Methodist Church. She served as past president of the United Methodist Women's group. Winona was also past president of California PTA, California Alumni Association, Missouri Claims Association, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Women's Auxiliary of the California Eagle's Club. She was a past Worthy Matron of California Eastern Star. Survivors include: three daughters; Ginger Henry along with her husband Dennis, Four Seasons Mo., Cindy Boxberger along with her husband Mike of Manhattan, Kansas, and Sylvia Bray along with her husband Jimmie of California, Mo. grandchildren; Nathan Henry, Misti Henry, Natalie Henry, Chris Boxberger, Joshua Bray and Jeremiah Bray. Seven great-grandchildren; Madison, Kain, and Jakson Henry, Adyson, Jacquelyn and Madelyn Bray, and Kinsley Bray. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013 at California United Methodist Church, with Pastor Eric Moore officiating. Burial was in the California City Cemetery, California, Mo.
