Hilda Marcella Vaughan

Hilda Marcella Vaughan. 85, of California, Missouri died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Moniteau Care Center in California, Missouri. She was born the daughter of Emanuel William and Mary Sidney McBroom Kubli. She attended Harmony and Pluck rural schools and graduated the eighth grade from Oak Hill rural school in 1941. In 1945, Hilda graduated from California High School and received her teaching certificate from Central Missouri State Teacher College (University of Central Missouri). For one year she taught Sappington School south of California. On June 25, 1948 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, she married Jesse Lloyd Vaughan who preceded her in death in 1973. She worked several factories in the area including California Manufacturing, International Shoe Factory and Chesebrough -Ponds (Unilever) where she retired in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her brother Donald Manuel Kubli, two children Alan Lloyd Vaughan and Mary Ruth King and one grandchild Michael Lloyd Vaughan. Survivors include one son Robert "Bob" Vaughan (Barbara); one daughter Sherry Emerson (Ken); 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Private family services were held at Enloe Cemetery near Russellville, Missouri.
