Huey Eldon Crocker, 77, of Jefferson City, MO passed away at his home on Thursday, June 12, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born October 14, 1936 in Goodwater MO, son of Jesse Warren Crocker, Sr. and Florence Edna Wigger who have preceded him in death. Huey started working at age 14 at the Gold Cup Bakery in Jefferson City, at age 16 he went to work for Gray Brothers Vault Co in Jefferson City and later managed the company. He owned Crocker Backhoe Service and in 1980 he started, owned and operated Central Missouri Vault Company until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed farming, fishing, BBQ and horses. He loved spending time at the river with his grandchildren, family and friends and fellow campers. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Kay Hayes, sons, Dennis Crocker (Nancy), Richard Crocker (Leesa), and Dakota Crocker, daughters, Cheryl Briggs (Harold) and Charlotte Turner. step- daughter Amber Henning, brother, Davey L. Crocker (Julie), sisters, Irmalene Rudroff (Allen), Annabelle Backers (Ronald), Nelda (Goff)Childers (Edwin), Sue Kauffman, Sarah Alberts (Charlie) and Cathy Feeley, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Samuel, five brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Solid Rock Family Church with the Rev. Tom Skiles officiating. Burial was in the Elston Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, Jefferson City.
