Marion Alma Tilton

Marion Alma Fischer Tilton, 92, of California died in Jesus May 19, 2014 at the California Care Center. She was born on October 30, 1921 in Jefferson City the daughter of Albert and Pauline Fischer. She was united in marriage to Clyde Hodler and then later married Dennis C. Tilton who preceded her in death on February 13, 1989. Marion was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California. Her jobs included Ralston Purina, Shoe factory and then Marion and her husband Dennis, operated the Tilton Nursing home and the Latham care center for over 25 years. She and her husband Dennis were instrumental in establishing the Eagle's club in California. Marion enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to paint, quilt, play cards, dance, traveling and enjoyed a lake house for many years. Marion is survived by her sons, Steve Hodler and wife Bonnie of Ballwin, MO, Hugh Hodler and wife Mary of Columbia, MO and daughters Linda Brizendine of California, Dennece Ward and husband Dennis of Vandalia and Janice Claas and husband Howard of Tipton, 10 grandchildren Shannon Moenkhaus (Jeff), Leslie Marshall (LaVelle), Alicia Hurley (Adam), Stacey Hodler, Ely Brizendine, Travis Ward (Donaza), Nick Ward (Amber), Luke Claas, Andrew Brizendine and Amanda Pettigrew (Toby), and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Sandra Faye Hodler and a grandson Cory Hodler. A Celebration of her life was held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Roll Funeral Home in California. Private family burial will be in the California City Cemetery.
