Virginia Ruth Kendrick

Virginia Ruth Kendrick, 89, of California, Mo., passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born on January 19, 1927, in California, Mo. the daughter of John J. and Alma H. Kiesling Kueffer. She got married on January 24, 1946, in Wichita, Kan., to Obe Kendrick who preceded her in death on March 16, 1999. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a line worker for Cargill and co-owner of Kendrick's Slaughter House for many years. Survivors include four sons, Garry Kendrick and his wife Maria of Brandenburg, Ky., Albert Kendrick and his wife Judy of California, Mo., Jim Kendrick of Boonville, Mo., and John Kendrick of Prairie Home, Mo.; three daughters, Carolyn Mertens of Jefferson City, Mo., Patty Wieberg of California, Mo., and Debbie Turner and her husband David of California, Mo.; one son-in-law, Charles Wolfe, of Jefferson City, Mo., fourteen grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: three sons, Norman Ray, Harold Dean, and Norris (Bud) Kendrick and one daughter, Marilyn Wolfe. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 14, 2016, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, California, Mo. Funeral service was held Monday, August 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California, Mo. Officiating was Rev. Dr. Peter Kurowski. Burial was in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg, Mo. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 207 N. Owen, California, Mo. 65018. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St. California, Mo.
