Kathryn Iola Yard

Kathryn Iola Yard, 96, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columba, Mo., on December 5, 2016. Kathryn was born on December 31, 1919, the daughter of Edward Hodler and Maggie (Less) Hodler. She was a lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist in Jamestown, Mo. She attended the Jamestown School. Kathryn served her country in Womens Army Corp from 1942 to 1944 as a PFC. She also worked for the Jamestown School District as a cook for over 40 years. Survivors include: a daughter-in law, Debbie Yard of Jamestown, Mo. and several "special friends", Sue Mason, Ralph and Connie Reimler, Mike and Carmen Papen, Virginia Higgins and Family and Cole Higgins. She was preceded in death by: two sons, Robert M. Yard and infant son, Billy Don Yard; three brothers, Harvey, Clyde and Donald Hodler. A private family grave side service will be at the Grace United Methodist Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California Mo.
