Mary Lou (Haldiman) Hert

Mary Lou (Haldiman) Hert, 74, of California, Mo., passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 24, 2016. She was born on May 23, 1942, in California, Mo., the daughter of the late Walter E. and Faye (Pennington) Haldiman. She was married on December 31, 1961, at the California United Church of Christ to Edward L. Hert who preceded her in death September 27, 2011. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to her children and grandchildren. She taught playschool at the California U.C.C. for many years and worked part-time for Lehman's Pharmacy and Dr. Lionel Gallagher. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Lady's and Couple's Bridge Clubs. She was also a member of the U.C.C. Women's Guild and an active member of the church. Survivors include: three daughters, Julie Medlin and husband Earl, Mary Beth Deeken and husband Jim, Susan Conrad and husband John; one brother, Richard Haldiman; one sister, Charlene Ford; nine grandchildren, Jess and Ginnie Medlin, Caitlin Phoenix, Spenser, Sydney and Ross Deeken, Bailey, Blake and Ben Conrad, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: one sister, Marilyn Parker. Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. at the California U.C.C., funeral service followed at 1 p.m. Officiated by Rev. Andrew Lovins. Burial was held at the California Evangelical Cemetery. Memorials suggested to the California U.C.C. c/o the funeral home.
