Eugene "Gene" Vincent Sanders

Eugene "Gene" Vincent Sanders, 58, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Montrose Memorial Hospital, Montrose, Colo. He was born May 5, 1958, in Jefferson City, Mo., son of Freddie Eugene Sanders and Virginia Sanders. He lost his fight with cancer, but won eternal life. His favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, going to flea markets and walking each day with his mother and family. He really enjoyed the hummingbirds around his feeder. Gene was always saying "it's all good". He studied the Bible with his friend, Randy Davenport, whose favorite saying was "all things work together for good to them who love God". He worked in maintenance at Branson and the last few years at Menards in Jefferson City, Mo. He brightened everyone's day with a cheerful, positive attitude and won several awards. He was well liked. He leaves behind: his mother; three brothers, Keith (Dorothy) of California, Mo., Brian (Shelly) of Montrose, Colo., Gary (Karen) of Jefferson City, MO.; five children, Lynn Marie, Anthony Wayne (Tony), Gina Nicole, Monika Sanders, Marlana Larm; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Sanders; one nephew, Adam Richard Sanders. The memorial service will take place at McGirk Community Center in McGirk, Mo., on October 8, 2016.
