David Joseph Lutz

David Joseph Lutz, 69, of Tipton, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at his residence. He was one of 9 children born to Herman and Mildred Lutz. David graduated from Tipton High School Class of 1965. He served his tour of duty in the US Army. He was a well known mechanic at Schaffter Equipment and later Sydenstricker's in Tipton. David and Mary Kay were married July 30, 1976, and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this summer. He enjoyed fishing as a hobby and was especially proud of his children with his greatest joy being his grandchildren. David was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Travis Lutz; brothers, Robert, William, and Gerald Lutz. He is survived by: his wife, Mary Kay Lutz of the home; son, Brandon Lutz and his wife Michelle of Osage Beach; daughter, Kelli Morrison and her husband Gregg of Grain Valley; granddaughters, Taylor Lutz and Brooke Morrison; brothers, Glen Lutz, Maurice Lutz, Mitchell Lutz and his wife Janet all of Tipton; sisters, Mary Ellen Cotriss and her husband Richard of Tipton, Margaret Lawson and her husband Mike of California, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Jackie and Linda Lutz; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., prior to the service. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton with burial immediately following in the St. Andrew's Cemetery.
