LeRoy Henry, 91, of California, Mo., passed away at The St Lukes East in Lees Summit, Mo. on Saturday, October 22, 2016. He was born on March 28, 1925, in Latham, Mo., the son of W.C. (Bill) Henry and Addie Wilson Henry, both of whom preceded him in death. LeRoy was a graduate of Latham High School. He was married on December 26, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas to Luella Rohrbach who passed away on May 6, 2013. LeRoy was an Army Veteran and was in the "Battle of the Bulge" during WWII. He was owner of Henry Tractor in California, Mo. for many years. He enjoyed, fishing, golfing, playing cards at the Twenty Club and being with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the California United Church of Christ where he served on many committees over the years. LeRoy served on the City Council, played Santa Claus for many parades and was a Pillar of the community. He is survived by: one son, Dennis Henry and wife Ginger of Four Seasons, Mo.; one daughter, Diane Jobe of Boonville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Greg Jobe and wife Susan of Kansas City, Mo., Shawna Dunnaway and husband Shane of California, Mo., Natalie Henry and Fiance Trent McElroy of Ft. Worth, Texas and Nathan Henry of California, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Visitation was held Monday, October 24, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at the California U.C.C. Sanctuary. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., also at the California U.C.C Sanctuary. Officiating was the Rev. Andrew Lovins. Burial with full military honors was at the California Evangelical Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the California U.C.C. c/o the Funeral Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
