William Merel Haun

William Merle Haun, age 70, of California, Mo. passed away Monday, February, 13, 2017, at his home. He was born April 7, 1946, in Costa Mesa, Calif., the son of William Merle and Lucille Rose Cook Haun Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He attended high school at Costa Mesa and earned his master's degree in teaching from California State University. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Gustafson and they were married for 27 years. His second marriage was to Ann Kibbe for ten years. William retired from teaching Spanish to high school students Lodi, Calif. and teaching English to non English speaking college students at Delta College and Stockton College. He also retired from farming including an apple orchard and a herd of Black Angus cattle in the state of California. He enjoyed woodworking, farming, barbecuing, going to flea markets, playing pool. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lodi, Calif. He will be sadly missed. Survivors include: two daughters, Sheila Young with her fiancé Gary Foxworthy, Greeley, Colo. and Stacey Muzy, California, Mo.; two brothers, Randy (Barbara) Haun, San Clemente, Calif., Terry Haun, Murrietta, Calif.; four grandchildren, Chelsea Davis, Casey Young, Conrad Butts, and Cammi Muzy; three great-grandchildren, Adelyn Waterfield, Harper Waterfield, and Kinzley Butts. A celebration of life will be Saturday February 25, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at Cowboy Church, 70011 Hwy 50 East, Tipton, Mo. 65081 with Larry Marriott, officiating.
