Lucille Mason

Lucille Mason, 92, of California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at California Care Center. She was born on September 12, 1924, in McGirk, Mo., the daughter of Clifford Haywood Hackney and Lucy Neil (Medlock) Hackney, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on May 19, 1946, in Sedalia, Mo. to Carl Roy Mason who preceded her in death on January 17, 1997. She was a graduate of California High School, a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, she and her husband Carl were co-owners of IGA Grocery Store. She enjoyed baking, and being a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ruth Lobos and her husband Bob of Baton Rouge, La., Margaret Bilyeu and her husband Dale of California, Mo.; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one brother, Ray Hackney; two sisters, Ethel Dalstein and Ruth Walker. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. 12 noon with funeral services following at Lebanon Baptist Church in McGirk, Mo. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Barnard. Burial will be at the California City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mid Missouri Food Bank c/o the funeral home.
