Ethel V. Harris

Ethel V. Klatt Harris, 88 of Prairie Home passed away Friday, January 20 at Riverdell Care Center in Boonville. Ethel Virginia Harris was born September 13, 1928 in Cooper County, Mo., the daughter of Otto Klatt and Elizabeth Siefert Klatt. Ethel married Forrest L. Harris on June 11, 1946 in Cooper County, Mo. Ethel graduated Prairie Home High School in 1945 as Valedictorian of her class. She worked for State Farm Insurance for 25 years until her retirement on December 31, 1997. She loved gardening and taking care of her rose garden. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Evangelical Church. Her granddaughter LeAna's memories of her: she Spoke her mind, knew how to handle a gun, loved to dance and play her organ. Ethel was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Forrest; brother, Troy Klatt; sisters, Agnes Hoke, Pauline Waters and Ida Klatt; her grandchildren, Clay Harris and Dawn Sprick. She is survived by: her son, Gary Harris and wife, Janet of Boonville; granddaughter, LeAna Winslow and husband Michael of Weatherford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Alexia and Kaylen Sprick of New Franklin, Mo. Visitation for Ethel was held Monday, January 23, 2017 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Davis Funeral Chapel, Rev. Lewis Odneal officiated. Burial followed in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Walnut Grove Cemetery or Clay Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund.
