Larry Louis Dusenberg

Larry Louis Dusenberg, 74, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Moniteau Care Center, California, Mo. He was born on May 6, 1943 in Boonville, Mo., to Louis and Martha (Kirschman) Dusenberg, both of whom preceded him in death. In 1961, Larry graduated from New Franklin High School. Larry earned his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1966, then earned his Master's Degree in Public Health in 1970, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. On June 13, 1964, Larry was married in New Franklin to Shirley Wallenmeyer who survives of the home. He worked at the Missouri Department of Health as a Health Engineer in Macon, for three years, and at Williams & Works as a Consulting Engineer for 11 years in Columbia. He then finished his career at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources as an Environmental Engineer for 26 years, retiring in 2006. Larry was very active in the Jamestown community. He was a lay leader at Grace United Methodist Church for 20 years, served as a Sunday school teacher for 10 years and sang in the church choir for over 30 years. He served on the Jamestown School Board and was a past school board president. He also served on the Jamestown Pool Board during the construction of the pool and was a member of the Jamestown Lion's Club. In 1969, Larry was chosen for the Northeast District Young Engineer Award. He was an avid sports fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Celtics, Green Bay Packers, and Missouri Tigers. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Larry is survived by: three sons and one daughter, Michael Dusenberg (Teresa), Stacey Hirst (Scott), Chris Dusenberg (Sara), and Patrick Dusenberg; two grandsons, Christian and Daniel Dusenberg; four granddaughters, Emily, Kaitlyn, Brennah Hirst and Audrey Dusenberg; his sister, Mary Maloney (Jeff); sister-in-law, Mary Jane Snyder (Kenny); three nephews and two nieces. He was also preceded in death by: one infant niece, Jennifer Maloney. The family received friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Monday, May 22, 2017, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Grace United Methodist Church, Rev. Tom Fair officiated. Interment was held at Grace United Methodist Cemetery.
