Alice Lorraine Carlyle

Alice Lorraine Carlyle, 72, of High Point, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born on September 9, 1946 in Holton, Kan. to John and Anna (Dyer) Norton. In 1964, Alice graduated from Lincoln High School. She later earned undergraduate and Master's degrees from CMSU. She married CT Carlyle at Hickory Chapel near Lincoln on October 7, 1967. Alice was a longtime member of the California Church of Christ and was well known for baking homemade cookies and sewing. Alice retired in 2005 after teaching for many years, most of them at the California Elementary and Middle Schools. Alice is survived by her husband CT, of the home; one daughter, Anissa Falconer (Ken) of Searcy, Ark.; two sons, Nate Carlyle (Amanda) of California, Mo. and Josh Carlyle (Sherry) of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Savannah, Scarlett, Ella, Ry, Kenny, Sophia, Poppy, and Attie; one brother, Bob Norton (Mary) of Lincoln, Mo.; two sisters, Carolle May of Harveyville, Kan. and Judy Bryant of Jefferson City; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by three brothers: Jim, Harlan and Denny Norton. Memorial services will be at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with Steve Healea officiating. Private interment will be at Elm Spring Cemetery.
