Gary Lee Scheppers

Gary (Gerald) Lee Scheppers, 77, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home. Gary was born December 8, 1940 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was a long time resident of Jefferson City, Missouri. Gary was employed by Harold G. Butzer, Inc. for many years. In 1984 he relocated to Lake Ozark, Missouri and operated Ozark Village Resort and Ozark Village Docks until retirement in 1995. After retirement he split his time between Lake Ozarks, Missouri and Rockport, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, building model boats, and traveling with friends and family. He married Elizabeth (Lammers) Dunsford in 1960. Together they had three children. He married Barbara (Howard) Scheppers in 1984. She preceded him in death in 2014. Gary is survived by two sisters, Lucy Nelson of Columbia, Missouri and Joannie (Bill) Farris of Jefferson City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by one sister, Georgia (Johnny) Pfenenger. He leaves behind four children; Lesa (Jim) Kelley of California, Missouri, Tim (Laura) Scheppers of Rocky Mount, Missouri, Cathy (Mark) Barklage of Rocky Mount, Missouri, and Monica (Gary) Hamilton of California, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Lena, Randy, Zarchary, Justin, Cody, Elizabeth, Rebecca; and five great-grandchildren. Also, surviving is a beloved friend, Linda Wilhoit. There will be no service at this time. A private Celebration of Life will be held in June.
