Lenard Eugene Elliott

Lenard 'Len Gene' Eugene Elliott, 86, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Moniteau Care Center, California. He was born on May 6, 1932 in California, to Clyde and Ida Margeret (Gainer) Elliott-Eitzen. Lenard graduated from California High School and Lincoln University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in the Signal Corps during the Korean War. He was married to Lois Jean Less and later to Earlene M. Haller on February 5, 1999 in California, who survives of the home. He worked for Ralston-Purina (Cargill) in California, Mo.; Dept-Revenue; retired from the MO Dept of Health (DHSS) as a Hospital Inspector traveling throughout the state and farmed the family farm. He was one of the three charter members of the California Shooters Club, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. Lenard was a Benefactor Member of the NRA, and was a gun collector. He was a member of the California United Church of Christ. Lenard is also survived by: his son, Brian E. Elliott of Houston, Texas; daughter, Becky Elliott of Holt Summit; two step-children, Sheila and Roger; two step-grandsons, Richard and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Lenard was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Jean Elliott in 1953. The family will receive friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Eugene Moll officiating. Interment will be at California City Cemetery.
