Vernon Albin

ALBIN Vernon David Albin, 69, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. David was born in Boonville, Mo. on June 25, 1949, to the late Elmer and Norma (Taylor) Albin. He was a 1967 graduate from Jamestown High School in Jamestown, Mo. who went on to attend Linn State Technical College where he obtained a degree in auto body. David married Marilyn Steward on September 10, 1977, in Columbia, Mo. and together they shared their lives with each other for almost 41 years. David worked for Machens Automotive in the body shop for 34 years and was known nationwide by many for his amazing ability when it came to painting vehicles. He loved classic cars and motorcycles and spent a great deal of his time attending car shows, participating in the Streetmasters Car Club in Mexico, Mo., and was a member of Chapter W of GWRRA. More than anything else in the world though, he enjoyed spending quality time with his loving wife. David is survived by his wife, Marilyn Albin; one niece: Angie Duncan; one nephew: David Duncan; one brother-in-law: Kevin Steward; and two sisters-in-law: Janice Shaw and Peggy McKnight. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Martin. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrisburg Christian Church officiated by Pastor John Gillman. Memorial contributions can be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society or to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
