Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Wade

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Bieri) Wade, age 79 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. Betty was born on October 16, 1939 in Boonville, Mo., a daughter of Frank F. and Marie Anna Elizabeth (Haldiman) Bieri. She was married on October 13, 1962 in California, Mo. to Quentin V. Wade. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Betty was a 1957 graduate of California High School in California, Mo. She attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo. Before her children were born, Betty was a secretary with the Missouri Highway Department and then at the Missouri Farm Bureau. She was a homemaker when her children were younger and took great pride in caring for her children and husband for many years. Betty later went to work as a bookkeeper with Beautiful Home Interiors until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed volunteering at polling stations in Callaway County during elections. She was an avid reader, loved cooking for her family, keeping up with her sisters, nieces and nephews and cherished traveling with her husband across the United States. Survivors include: her beloved husband of 56 years, Quentin Wade; two sons, Shane Wade (Melissa) of Centertown, Mo. and Jared Wade (Alison) of Jefferson City, Mo.; four sisters, Esther Steinhauer of Springfield, Mo., Jean Sadler of St. Louis, Mo., Mable Scofield of Columbia, Mo. and Dorothy Kirchoff (Roger) of California, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Charles Klein, Bryan Klein, Shae Wade, Jennifer Case, Timothy Bullion, David Bullion, Oren Williams, Courtney Schnieders, Kelsey Wade and Samuel Wade; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Freeman Chapel with Celebrant Gara Loskill officiating. Graveside services and interment were held at the Elston Cemetery in Elston, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Moniteau County Historical Society, 201 N.
