Richard Lee Bardwell

Richard Lee Bardwell, age 75, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri. One of seven children, Richard was born September 5, 1943, in California, Missouri, to William S. and Mary J. Bardwell. While working at the Shoe Factory in Tipton, Richard met Delores Yoest, whom he married September 18, 1971. They were blessed with a daughter and a son and spent over 30 years of their married life together living in Tipton. Richard worked for a short time at Fischer's under the 8-Ball in Tipton until he was employed by the State of Missouri as a correction officer at the prison in Jefferson City and eventually the prison in Tipton. For a short time after retirement, Richard worked at Tipton Oak Manor. Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching Mash and also westerns on TV. He loved his family, especially taking great joy from spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding Richard L. Bardwell in death are his parents, William and Mary Jane Bardwell; brother, Oliver (Buzz) Bardwell; sisters, Phyllis Heavener and Carol Bardwell; niece, Rhonda Heavener Bryant; nephews, Danny Bardwell and Sean Eason. Surviving Richard are his wife Delores of California, Mo.; son, William (Billy) Bardwell and his wife Casey of Jefferson City, Mo.; daughter, Patricia C. Taylor and her husband Matthew of California, Mo.; brothers, Mark Bardwell and wife Rosemary and Gary Bardwell and wife Linda, all of California, Mo.; sister, Kathy Eason of California, Mo.; brother-in-laws, Jim Heavener of Kansas City, Mo., John Yoest and wife Chanry of Tipton, Mo., Dan Yoest and wife Guin of Washington, Mo.; sister-in-law, Andrea Tilbury and husband J.W. of California, Mo.; grandchildren, Anthony Stephen Pace and Joshua Matthew Taylor; great-grandchildren Dylan Jones, Jade Pace Johnson, Hunter Toebben, Liam Marshall and Camden Pace. Funeral service for Richard Lee Bardwell will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton, Mo. with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. until time of service.
