Faye E. (Baker) Martin, 97, of Clarksburg, Missouri, passed away July 10, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born June 26, 1922, daughter, of Raymond and Ethel (Simmers) Baker. She was united in marriage on February 11, 1946, to Leonard B. Martin who preceded her in death on August 28, 1980. Faye was a graduate of Clarksburg High School; she later went on to get her teaching certificate from Lincoln University. Most of Faye's life was spent teaching at Clarksburg Elementary School. She enjoyed her time teaching so much that after retirement she was often seen substituting. She was a faithful member of Clarksburg Baptist Church where for many years she taught both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed helping on the farm, entertaining card parties with family and friends. Some of Faye's hobbies included: reading, cross word puzzles, sewing and cooking. The thing Faye treasured most was the time spent with her grandchildren. Faye is survived by her son, Paul (Brenda) Martin of Clarksburg; son-in-law, Norris Hill of New Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Lisa (Russell) Smith, Jacksonville, Florida, Robert (Becky) Hill, New Bloomfield, Amanda Martin, Cape Girardeau; three great- grandchildren, Rachel, Brooke and Ryan Smith; a brother, Virgil Baker, Sedalia; a sister, Helen Wallenmeyer; and a sister-in-law, Pat Baker of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Mary Ellen Hill; and a brother, Lloyd Ray Baker. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service, California, Missouri with Rev Leroy Moon officiating. Burial was in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to St. Jude's Research Children's Hospital.
