Susan Lynn Latham-Brougham
Susan Lynn Latham-Brougham, 52, of California, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at California Care Center
California, Missouri.
She was born on May 10, 1967, in Jefferson City, to Richard and
Sue (Reed) Latham, both of whom survive of the
home.
Susan graduated from California High School.
She raised and broke saddle horses. She earned
the Silver and Gold Awards as a Girl Scout. Susan
enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. She was a
member of Flag Spring Baptist Church. While
working for the Moniteau County Sherriff Office
as dispatcher, she attended and graduated from
Columbia College, at the same time as her mother,
with a BS in Criminal Justice and graduated from
Law Enforcement Academy. Susan was a licensed EMT and
worked for Mid-MO Ambulance District. For a time, Susan served
as City Police Officer in Centralia. Along with her father, she was a
Moniteau County Sherriff Deputy.
Along with her parents, Susan is survived by two daughters,
Suzanne Lynette Latham and Katie Alexander Young; one stepdaughter, Jessie Young; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Edward Latham in April 2010; one husband, James "Jim" Young, and maternal
and paternal grandparents.
The family received friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral
Service on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Memorial services followed with Rev. Ken Chapman
officiating. Inurnment will be at the Evangelical Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to
Hospice Compassus.
